This set of paintings has been inspired by incredible Summertime views of Colorado’s high country wildflower meadows in and magical nigh skies. My birthday is at the height of the wildflower season up in the high altitude meadows. In the middle of July the wild color displays that line the mountain sides are breath taking. This last July 14th we drove one of the most spectacular roads in Colorado – the Alpine Loop. I swear that there were trillions of flowers seen in all directions. Besides the sheer magnitude of individual flowers that thrive in those harsh conditions, the variety of species is pretty mind blowing. I took so much inspiration from that beautiful drive that when I got home, I knew exactly what to paint!
