This painting is inspired by the first dusting of snow in mid September when the Aspens start turning yellow at the foot of Colorado’s high peaks. One particular inspirational moment that stands out in my memory is camping at Little Molas Lake on Autumn Equinox, the month before giving birth to my first son. The leaves were bursting with yellow, yet there was still some green around and all of a sudden it began to snow. It was one of the most magical autumn moments to date.
Painting sooooo big was AMAZING! This painting is inspired by a bright, star filled night above Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. The atmosphere feels cool and crisp, and the milky way is clearly visible above the many layers of surrounding mountains.
